| Thank you for visiting the
website of The ELECTRIC MOUSE Band. We are a band that likes to make our audience happy, singing and dancing so that they are having such a good time that they lose all track of time. We like making our own interpretation of music for one very good reason, we enjoy it and a happy audience makes us happy (it has even been known for a smile to replace the look of concentration on guitarist Andy's face from time to time). Although we advertise as being purveyors of 1960s & '70s music, there are also some numbers from the 1950s in the play-list as well as a few more modern creations. Our bass player (Eric) is Andy's elder brother and likes nothing more than belting out 60's soul classics (complete with horn section from Pete on the keyboards), whereas 'bruv' Andy is more blues orientated. Drummer Stuart is so easy-going that he is a dream to work with, in fact sometimes he is so easy-going that we have to get him to speed up. His main problem is keeping Eric off of his drum kit! Pete doesn't have that problem as he knows that the rest of us have no chance of doing what we expect of him........With piano parts, organ parts, banjo sounds, brass, strings etc. demanded of him, his most uttered words are "How many #&*%$*# pairs of hands do you think I've got?". Pete loves trundling out a quiet ballad (some chance!). So, what can you expect in a session from The Electric Mouse Band? Firstly, we are not heavy metal, or anything approaching it, although we have plenty of 'go' in our repertoire: Honky Tonk Women, Midnight Hour, 634-5789, Shaking All Over, Mony Mony, Walking the Dog, Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Knock on Wood, Route 66, Summertime Blues, I'm a Believer, Gimme some Lovin', Proud Mary, Delta Lady etc. We do a few Beatles numbers (you cannot be a 1960s/'70s band without paying homage to the four lads from Merseyside) including Lady Madonna, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, Let it Be, Eleanor Rigby (please forgive us Sir Paul for our paced-up treatment of your lovely composition), and Pete's arrangement of John Lennon's Imagine (oh well, he does get a slow one in every now and then). Audiences love joining in with the likes of Pretty Flamingo, Sweet Caroline, our jazzy/blues rendition of These Boots are made for Walking, Whisky in the Jar, Knocking on Heaven's Door or, the ever popular, Mustang Sally (Ride Sally, Ride). So, if you've No Particular Place to Go, put on your Blue Suede Shoes for an Electric Mouse gig.........and you will know that it's all over when the fat fella attempts to sing Delilah! |
