Frequently Asked Questions
Which Edith Nesbit stories are still in print ?
Where can I find a first edition "Railway Children" ?
A hard question to answer, because different publishers occasionally put out various new editions, but I would recommend a look at a large "on-line" bookstore such as amazon.com or similar. Alternatively get in touch with the Edith Nesbit Society who would, I'm sure, be glad to help.
I wish I knew !! (I've been looking for years). Seriously, I have been quoted in the region of £4,500.00 / £5,500.00 sterling for a "mint-condition-first edition" copy of "The Railway Children" and my pocket money won't quite stretch that far !! So I content myself with looking around second-hand and antique bookshops in the hope that someday I may "strike gold".
I will not undertake to offer advice on the value of specific editions, firstly, I am not qualified to do so and secondly, value is in the eye of the beholder or in the margins of the dealer !!!
